Office of Administrative Hearings
An independent virtual hearing space for the UNM community
Whether you are a student, faculty member, or staff member—OAH provides an impartial virtual hearing space to resolve allegations of violations of various University Administrative Policies. UNM Administrative Hearings are designed to gather information and determine facts in a neutral, respectful setting. Our hearings are not court trials. Our hearings are governed by University Administrative Procedures, not traditional courtroom rules—allowing us to focus on ensuring fairness and applying university policy in a structured, but less formal setting.

How We Receive Cases
Our office is one step in the University of New Mexico grievance process. Civil Rights (+) complaints are referred to our office by the Office of Compliance, Ethics & Equal Opportunity (CEEO) upon completion of a formal investigation or referred from the Dean of Students.
Employee Appeals reach our office by direct request from an applicable UNM Employee.
Contact Us!
We understand that the grievance process can be stressful and may feel repetitive. We’re here to coordinate with participants, provide information, and answer any questions participants may have about the process. You can email us at hearingoffice@unm.edu.
